Tim Dempers. 1974 South Africa

Tim Dempers uses algorithms and parametric modelling to create three-dimensional paintings. He worked with Cecil Balmond in the Advanced Geometry Unit (AGU) at Arup in London 2006-07, and is currently in the final year of his graduate degree at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. He received his RIBA part 1 from the AA in 2004. After studying Architecture at the University of Cape Town 93-95 Dempers began working in the yachting-industry in the south of France. He has spent 1300 days at sea and two years on the build of a 114m Motor Yacht at Lurssen shipyard in nothern Germany. He holds a CoC Masters of Yachts Class 4 and employs his knowledge of yacht construction in the production of his pieces.
